Swan Lake is a newer State Park that sits on 67 acres with beautiful rolling hills and mountains. This particular State Park enjoys numerous visitors during the summer who come to swim in the lake, canoe, kayak, fish, make use of the picnic sites – many with grills – and to walk along the various trails.
Swimming is allowed in the shallow waters of Swan Lake. Lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 9:00 AM until Sunset daily. Changing rooms and bathroom facilities are provided for day swimmers.
In addition to swimming, there are opportunities for fishing on Swan Lake. Fishing is permitted from shorelines or from a canoe or kayak. The lake is stocked with brook trout, which often grow to lengths of 15 to 18 inches. You can also find lake trout and landlocked salmon in these waters.
Swan Lake, at just over 1,370 acres of water and only 3 miles long, is perfect to enjoy on a canoe or kayak. You will find a public boat launch for your boat use. Motorized boats are not allowed on these waters.
For large groups, there is a private group shelter including horseshoes, volleyball and a handicapped accessible toilet. There is an additional fee charged for the use of the group shelter.
Whether planning a picnic for two or twenty, Swan Lake State Park is an excellent location. There is a variety of activities and excellent, modern amenities.
