While Chandler Bay is secluded, you are not far from Jonesport where all amenities can be found. The small fishing village sits on a point of land that stretches about ten miles out into the Atlantic Ocean and offers a grocery store, hardware store and numerous restaurants featuring delicious clams, lobster and fresh fish. Because Chandler Bay is away from big city lights, the sunsets and star gazing are amazing.
The Bay has plenty of rocky coastline but Sandy River Beach offers comfortable sunbathing and swimming. Wildlife is abundant in the area with deer, moose, hummingbirds gulls, doves, eagles and more. There are also local lighthouses and great hiking and golfing. There are tours available in the area as well as gift and antique shops and Acadia National Park. Chandler Bay is an ideal, quiet get away that provides scenic vistas, outdoor activities, modern comforts and one of a kind Maine cuisine.
