Showers & Laundry
Acadia National Park has a diverse environment making it an excellent location to enjoy bicycling, boating, climbing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, scenic driving, swimming, checking out tide pools, etc. After spending a day in any one or several of these activities, there is nothing quite as refreshing as a hot shower – and your clothes could probably use a wash, as well. more info
Acadia National Park has two developed campgrounds and one primitive campground. At the more developed campgrounds of Backwoods and Seawall, you will not find any hook-ups or utilities. However, grills, picnic tables, and fire rings are available at each site. Drinking water and flush toilets are located nearby. Showers and laundromats may be found a short distance away in local communities.
Other campgrounds in and around Acadia have full hook-ups and hot showers. Many of these same campgrounds also have full laundry facilities. Some charge a small fee for the use of the showers and laundromats if you are not a camper at their site. There is a public laundromat in Bar Harbor where you can do a load or two and then fluff them dry. Laundromats can also be found in the nearby communities of Blue Hill, Camden, Rockland, and Belfast.
