Maine Eastern Railroad

To enjoy the ambience of the Coast of Maine, try taking a tourist passenger train ride or excursion along the scenic mid-coast of Maine Coast. Maine Eastern Railroad, formerlly operated by Maine Coast RR, has passenger service and freight service via the rails of days gone by. Travel aboard restored rail coaches and enjoy a truly unique experience.

Step back in time and take a ride on the railroad.

Brunswick is the southern most location on the Maine Eastern Railroad route. From here you can travel in restored rail coaches along the bank of the Sheepscot River and through marshes and tidal preserves. You will see abandoned historic train trestles and the remains of a busy harbor.

The Maine Eastern Railroad has scheduled stops at Bath, Boothbay, Wiscasset, and Rockland, and can stop at many smaller towns in between. Each town offers a range of accommodation, restaurants, and history.

These scenic trips on the Maine Eastern Railroad run from late May through late October. It takes just over 2 hours to complete the trip in one direction but you can also make a day trip out of it with a round trip ticket.
