Bar Harbor Town Band
Bar Harbor is a quaint town on the eastern coast of Maine. It is known for its famous musical events and festivals, as well as being a tourist haven for those appreciating the great outdoors and wonders that surround it. However, the town has become nationally recognized for its outstanding ability to showcase new and starting out talents in the music industry, not just in one musical genre. The Bar Harbor Town Band is in fact not just a local band, but a combination of varied talent that should not be missed.

Music under the stars sums up the annual summer concert series. Featuring the Bar Harbor Town Band begins in early July and runs through August. Concerts are every Monday and Thursday, weather permitting.
When it comes to town bands, most think of the local compilations of old musicians or even local organization groups. However, Bar Harbor has raised the bar for town bands with the Bar Harbor Town Band, not just any band. In fact, this band has been noticed nationally for its ability and mission to bring together new talents, young and old alike. It showcases each musician, singer and composer in ways that are not seen in many places or festivals.
The Bar Harbor Town Band has been drawing in local, regional and even national new talents amongst amateur musicians, singers and others for more than one hundred years. It is one of the main highlights of the town's Bar Harbor Music Festival, held annually every summer. The band performs with new talents each time, entertaining visitors and locals alike in varied free concerts, usually held at the Village Green.
Located at the intersection of Mount Desert and Main Streets, the Village Green has become synonymous with musical compositions of all types. The band has not limited itself to just classical music, but runs the gauntlet of the musical imagination, encompassing genres of all varieties.
The Bar Harbor Town Band has musical concerts at the Village Green most evenings in July each summer. Concerts start at 8pm and run for a full hour. Admission is free and donations are gratefully accepted.
There is plenty of space for picnics and lounging on the green as the band plays. Nearby restaurants, bars and cafes are close by, allowing visitors to grab a quick meal, snack or take out as they enjoy the music that unfolds before them.
The Bar Harbor Town Band does not limit itself with the musicians, composer and singers that it takes in. Anyone can apply and anyone seeking to entertain the public with their music is welcome. In fact, entertaining with the Bar Harbor Town Band has allowed many talents to launch themselves into the public arena, some of which have even made careers out of the music industry. Some previous Bar Harbor Town Band talents even return to the town during festivals, having made their mark in music, coming from as far away as the Big Apple, New York.
