While camping on Mount Desert Island, the convenience of showers and laundry are appreciated. Most facilities are coin operated and have change machines available.

Showers

While visiting Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park more than likely you will desire a hot shower or to wash your clothes. Both the Blackwoods and Seawall campgrounds of Acadia National Park do not provide shower facilities.

Laundry

In Acadia National Park and its campgrounds there are no laundry facilities, utilities, and hook ups. They do provide the necessary fire ring, picnic tables, and grill enclosures to make your stay comfortable. Throughout the campgrounds are seasonal modernized flush toilet facilities with sinks in the comfort stations, and cold potable water sources at specific locations. Dump stations for recreational vehicles are also available.

Outside of the Park

In the villages of the area are coin operated shower facilities in generally one-half a mile from the campgrounds entrance. Similarly coin operated Laundromats are located in villages close to the campground. The Laundromat closest to Seawall is located in the Southwest Harbor. The closest ones to Blackwoods are located in Bar Harbor, and in Northeast Harbor. The facilities at private campgrounds are usually coin operated. 

Lodging facilities provide improved accommodations, greater accessibility and ease, while relaxing and getting clean. The hot water of civilization feels good and does wonders for clothing after some time in the woods. The local lodging accommodations offer modernized cleaning facilities, which are always welcoming of a guest.
