Internet Access

Acadia National Park is an incredibly beautiful paradise that stretches across Mount Desert Island, off the coast of Maine. There are four major towns, all harbor communities that attract tourists from across the United States and beyond. However, it has many places that provide Internet access, most especially in its cozy motels, bed and breakfasts, hotels and even summer rental cottages. For those who need alternative locations of access, the islanders have accounted for that demand very well.

Picturesque Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, Maine, is a playful and sleepy place to relax and unwind, most especially loved by the people of Maine for its sea views and wealth of park activities. Many of them are Internet savvy and choose to share their experiences with friends, family and work associates via Wi-Fi and broadband connections, though not everyone owns a laptop. However, two of the four harbor towns – Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor - now offer substantial access for locals and visitors alike.

Bar Harbor has six great Wi-Fi locations. These include Atlantic Oakes By-The-Sea (119 Eden Street), Bar Harbor Manor (47 Holland Avenue), Holbrook House (74 Mt. Desert Street), Bar Harbor Cottages & Suites (144 Old Bar Harbor Road – main lobby), the Black Friar Inn (10 Summer Street – main lobby and restaurant) and The Central House (60 Cottage Street). Wi-Fi hotspots can be found at the edge of Agamont Park and the Village Green, as well as outside the reception office at the Sea Breeze Motel (Route 3). The Jesup Memorial Library (34 Mt. Desert Street) has multiple computers with broadband connections for free usage, plus a strong Wi-Fi signal that can be reached from within or from the outside of the building.

Just a short drive away is Southwest Harbor, smaller town with just one Wi-Fi access location. For the cost of a drink or food, patrons can enjoy sea views and Internet connections at the Harbor Treats Cafe at 19 Clark Point Road.
