FREE PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO WORKSHOPS AT ACADIA: August 16-24

Visitors Can Learn From the Pros While Using Top-Tier Cameras

WHO: Canon and American Park Network will offer FREE digital photography workshops at Acadia National Park from August 16 through August 22 and FREE digital videography workshops in Bar Harbor on August 23 and 24. The free workshops are led by professional photographers who have been recognized nationally for their photographic excellence.

WHAT: Participants will learn from professional photographers and will be able to use top-of-the-line Canon camera equipment at no charge to capture the picture-perfect sights. Instructors will cover the basics of camera function and photography / cinematography, as well as how to create more effective videos and photos. All participants will be able to print free copies of the still images they take and will also be able to download their photos and videos from the Web for free.

WHEN & WHERE: The free photography programs will take place three times daily from August 16 through August 22. The photo workshops begin at 8:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Jordan Pond House. The free video workshops will take place twice daily on August 23 and 24. The video workshops begin at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Porcupine Room at Bar Harbor Inn. Space is limited for all workshops. Participants should arrive approximately 15–30 minutes early. WHAT TO BRING: No cameras are necessary. Canon will provide digital SLR bodies and lenses for all participants, though guests are welcome to use their own equipment.
