The logical “jumping off” spot to begin your exploration of Acadia National Park is Hulls Cove Visitor Center. Known to some as the summer Visitor Center, Hulls Cove is generally open from mid April through October. Here you can browse the Park related publications and check the schedule of activities and events. Hulls Cove Visitor Center in Acadia National Park can be reached by taking the 52 steps from the parking area, or for those individuals who are unable to take the steps, the Center is accessible through a separate entrance. As you approach the Center, check for signs that will direct you to the other entrance.

The Center has free publications, including pamphlets and brochures about the area, books, and maps, which can be purchased. In addition, Hulls Cove Visitor Center is staffed with courteous, experienced and educated individuals who are happy to answer any questions. The staff will be happy to help you plan your trip. Check out the information on automobile routes, hiking and biking.

The free 15-minute audiovisual program can be viewed in English, French or German. This film is shown every half hour. You can purchase or rent a cassette tape or CD tour of Acadia and a tape player if you need one. This can give you additional insight to everything that you will see while touring the Park.

For the kids, check out the Junior Ranger program. For the whole family, ask about the ranger-led activities.
