National Park Campgrounds
There are two campgrounds in Acadia National Park, Blackwoods and Seawall. You can find the Blackwoods Campground on Route 3 just 5 miles south of the community of Bar Harbor. Seawall Campground is just 4 miles south of Southwest Harbor on Route 102A. There are no utility hook-ups at either campground. However, each has restrooms, potable water, a dump station, fire rings and picnic tables. Barely ½ miles from each campground, you will find a shower house and a small store. more info
Acadia National Park is small in comparison to other National Parks and the environment of the Park is very fragile. No overnight backpacking is allowed and all camping within Acadia needs to be done in one of the two established public campgrounds.
Due to limited space, reservations are required for Blackwoods Campground. However, Seawall Campground is first come, first served. When making your reservation, please be sure to know the dates you wish to camp and have an alternative if those dates are not available. The Park Service will also ask how many people are in your group and what type of camping equipment you have.
