While in Acadia National Park, there are a great number of sights to see – including the Otter Cliffs. These sheer, sharp pink granite rock cliffs rise majestically from the ocean waves high into the sky. With a height of over 110 feet, these jutting spires of rock are a popular place for rock climbers.

Otter Cliffs provide an excellent climbing terrain for beginner rock climbers and those who are more experienced. There are both crack and corner routes up the cliffs – some as long as 80 feet. This is rare - to be able to rock climb while boats bob and sea waves rumble below you.

Watching the rock climbers at Otter Cliffs puts into perspective the shear, dramatic rise of the cliffs and their massive size. Be sure to watch your step while near or on the Cliffs. Their constant bombardment of seawater and sea spray makes the area very slippery.
