Acadia Nature Center
Acadia National Park is famous for it geological diversity – from dense forests, to sandy coast line, to rugged granite cliffs. If your mind is filled with questions about the natural formation of the Park and the status of the both the animals that live here and the plants that thrive here, then take a trip to the Nature Center.
The 41,000 acres of coast on Mount Desert Island, part of the Schoodic Peninsula and several islands are a fascinating combination of granite cliffs adjoining sandy beaches on one side and dense forests on the other. This is Acadia National Park.
The Nature Center at Acadia National Park is located at Sieur de Monts Spring, just off Park Loop Road and Route 3. Here you can examine exhibits and displays that explain the diversity of natural resources found in the Park. In addition, there is a staff member present, who can answer questions and further explain the exhibits and displays. This is a wonderful way for the entire family to learn from the hands on experience facilitated by the Nature Center.
The Nature Center in Acadia National Park is open from late May to early October and admission is free.
