Educational Programs

One of the primary missions of Acadia National Park is to educate both children and adults. A trip to the Park is filled with all kinds of opportunities for learning. Rangers lead interpretive programs and give guided tours. Interpretive programs, led by Rangers, are also available at the Visitor Centers and on-site museums and information centers.

  • Learn about local ecology and history in one of the parks educational programs
  • Let a knowledgeable ranger be your guide on a hike or boat cruise through the park
  • Enroll your kids in the Junior Ranger Program where they’ll earn a signed certificate and an embroidered patch

Let a professional park ranger introduce you and/or your group to the natural wonders and rich history of Acadia National Park. Ranger led Park programs include:

Most of these programs are offered seasonally from mid-May to mid-October. Some programs require advanced reservations and require the payment of a fee. The majority of Ranger-led programs are free; however, there are a few that charge an additional fee to cover expenses.
